Event FAQs

What is Grad Night?

Grad Night is a Prospect High PTSA tradition that celebrates the graduates with a safe and sober, fun-filled, exciting celebration on the night of graduation. This event is being organized by the parents of the senior class. Graduates will be bussed to a secret location (within the Bay Area) and will enjoy a variety of activities, food, prizes and entertainment as they celebrate all together for the last time! We need your help to make it a memorable night on Thursday, June 6th, 2024!

Is this a school/district event?

The Grad Night event is NOT sponsored, endorsed, or funded by Prospect High School or CUHSD. The Grad Night Committee is working under the Prospect High PTSA. This event is organized 100% by parent volunteers. Contact us if you need more information at gradnight@prospectptsa.org.

When is it?

Thursday, June 6 through early morning of Friday June 7, 2024. Later in the evening of graduation (exact time TBD), students will return to Prospect to check in and will board buses that will take them to the secret Grad Night location.

Do the students really like the party?

Absolutely! Year after year, students who attend Grad Night rave about how much fun it was and this year promises to deliver more of the same!

Is it a dance?

No. While the students may dance, it’s a fun-filled night with all-night food, beverages, activities, games, entertainment, and of course, a DJ. There will also be quiet activities for those who wish to be less active or take a break from all the fun.

Do they have to dress up?

The party is very casual. The students may wear whatever is comfortable and allows movement to participate in various activities. Closed toe shoes are required.

Do grads need to bring money?

No, the admission price includes everything for every person for the entire night!

What can my student bring to the event?

Students may bring a photo ID (Student ID  or driver’s license required), sweatshirt or jacket, medically necessary items, and their keys. No alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or weapons allowed. No open containers and no liquids will be allowed.  Please leave water bottles, perfumes/lotions, etc, in your car or at home.

Can parents attend Grad Night or take pictures?

This is an event for the students to celebrate graduation as a class. Only parents who volunteer to work at the party are allowed to attend.

Can anyone attend the event? Can students from another school attend the event?

No, only Prospect High School Class of 2024 Seniors may attend. PHS Student IDs must be presented at the checkin.

Is Grad Night really safe?

Yes. We carefully choose the site that can be monitored by facility security and volunteer parents throughout the night.

Why is the location kept secret? Will the parents know the site in advance?

It is kept secret for two reasons: one is to keep the students guessing about the location, which adds to the adventure, and second is to assure that there is no contraband or gate crashing. Only a handful of parents will know the site. Committee members and volunteers will be informed on a need-to-know basis.

What is included in the ticket price?

Included is the venue cost, the charter buses, food, beverages, activities, and entertainment for the whole night. If the cost of this ticket poses a financial hardship, please email gradnight@prospectptsa.org

How is Grad Night funded?

A percentage of the event is funded by ticket sales and the other portion is funded by donations as well as fundraising events organized by our fundraising committee. Please consider making a direct donation to Grad Night and participating in our fundraising events.

Why is the party so long?

The goal is to provide a full night of safe celebration for the graduates.

Can my grad leave the party early?

No. In the event of an emergency, the Grad Night committee volunteers will notify a parent or guardian to pick up their student.

Do parents have to pick them up from Prospect High?

Transportation is provided to and from the party site. Each student will need transportation home from Prospect after Grad Night at approximately 6 am. Students can leave a car in the Prospect High parking lot.
